Love Letters & Breakup Letters Method

Updated: Aug 19, 2022

#UserCenteredDesignMethods #Methods

In addition to the 4 methods that served as the base for the Bicycle User Experience concept, this blog will be translating more human centered design methods to the context of street design for everyday biking. These blog posts are initial explorations.

The third method we'll explore is Love Letters & Breakup Letters.

What: Emotional letters people write about riding a bike on a given street or intersection, expressing their positive/negative emotions and experiences.

Why: Learn about both what is frustrating and what is delightful for everyday people. Build empathy for their experiences and emotions.

End Goal: Better understand what elements are causing good or bad experiences for people and iterate the street design accordingly.
